Airsoft vs Paintball
Where to play airsoft & paintballUnlike paintball, airsoft playing fields are often free to play at. This is kind of a split positive and negative. Because paintball is more commercial, there is always a field to play it at. For airsoft you may find your expenses being spent on the cost of gas and driving time. So which is really cheaper, airsoft or paintball? This answer is going to change depending how much you play either sport. Generally speaking, the more you play airsoft the cheaper it becomes per game. If you buy a quality AEG (automatic electric gun) and have it upgraded by a reputable airsoft specialist your gun should not need any major repair for 2 years or more.
The variable costs for a single day of airsoft gameplay may be no more than a bag of BB's and gas for your car. If you want something you can play twice a month or more without breaking the bank, airsoft is the winner. Spending $1000 doesn't make you a better airsoft playerWhen comparing airsoft and paintball on a price scale I believe the most important fact is how the amount of money a player spends relates with their performance on the field. In airsoft a $1000 gun is hardly any better than a $400 gun. The $1000 gun may look cooler, but the player won't be better off. In many cases that $1000 gun could actually be worse. In paintball the guys with the expensive guns rule the field. In my opinion, airsoft wins when it comes to price. Airsoft guns are cheaper, and so is the ammo. Most importantly a cheap gun won't put you at a severe disadvantage. Paintball Fields vs Airsoft Fields
