Airsoft Glossary

Airsoft: An action combat sport simular to paintball using realistic soft pellet guns originating in Asia.

Airsoft gun: Any soft pellet gun which shoots at low velocities.

AEG: Automatic Electric Gun; a battery powered airsoft gun usually resembling an assault rifle or submachine gun.

Gas blow back: Gas blow back airsoft guns exert backword movement to simulate a slight recoil feeling. Because of the extra force expelled the BBs will over travel slower than from a NBB (non-blow back), however, GBBs are more fun to use.

Gas gun: Airsoft gun powered by gas. While gas handguns are the most popular submachine guns and assault rifles also exist.

Mag: a.k.a magazine. This is what hold the BBs in an airsoft gun. It is often incorrectly referred to as a clip.

Tokyo Marui: Creator & main producer of AEGs located in Japan.
